Privacy Policy for Tardis

Effective Date: May 29, 2025

At Tardis, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our app, "Tardis: A Weekly Hour Allocator for Projects," and our website. By using Tardis, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal personal information to provide you with the best experience:

  • Account Creation: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password to enable cross-device syncing and secure access to your project hours.
  • Payment Information: If you opt for a premium account, we process payments through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store your payment details (e.g., credit card information) on our servers; Stripe handles all payment data securely.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your Tardis account, allowing you to sync your project hours across devices.
  • To process payments for premium accounts via Stripe, ensuring you can access additional features.
  • To communicate with you about updates, new features, or account-related matters (e.g., password reset emails).

3. Data Storage and Offline Functionality

Tardis is designed to work offline for unauthenticated users, meaning your project data (e.g., hours logged, project details) is stored locally on your device using local storage or IndexedDB if you have not logged in. Once you create an account and log in, your project data is stored on our servers to enable cross-device syncing. This ensures your data is accessible across all your devices when you are authenticated.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • Stripe: If you purchase a premium account, Stripe processes your payment information. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Tardis, our users, or the public.

5. Security of Your Information

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption for data transmission (e.g., during account syncing) and secure storage practices. Data stored locally on your device is your responsibility to secure. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices

  • Account Deletion: You can delete your Tardis account at any time by contacting us at dev@codingspace.io. Upon deletion, your email, password, and synced project data will be removed from our servers. If you were using Tardis unauthenticated, local data on your device may remain until manually cleared.
  • Opt-Out of Communications: You can opt out of non-essential emails (e.g., updates) by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in our emails or contacting us.

7. Children's Privacy

Tardis is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant updates via email or through the app. The updated policy will be effective as of the date posted.
